What flavors do your cakes come in?

The flavors below are The Cake Artist’s most popular flavors; they are just mere suggestions as to what we can create. If there is any flavor you would like and do not see, don’t hesitate to ask, as we can accommodate every palette.

Cake: Dark Chocolate, Golden Vanilla, Banana, Red Velvet, Vanilla Chip

Butter Cream Flavors: Classic Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Our Signature "Oreo", Espresso Truffle, White Chocolate, Strawberry, Toasted Coconut, Lemon, Nutella, Salted Caramel, Snicker’s Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Mint Chocolate Chip, Blackberry Merlot, Vanilla Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Banana Foster, Butterscotch, Rocky Road (Marshmallow, Walnuts, & Chocolate Chips)

How much do your cakes cost/do you have a price list?

We currently do not have a pricing list. Each cake is custom, and therefore every price varies. Pricing is based upon size (number of servings) and design. For a price quote, please feel free to e-mail your cake details, including: date, number of guests, type of event, theme (if any), and any other design ideas please contact us.

How far in advance do I need to order a cake?

Ideally, we would like as much lead time as possible; however, if you have a short notice order, please email us the event date and we will try our best to get it done for you! If possible, we ask that you please give us at least 3-6 weeks notice on specialty cake orders.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We are a cash and check-only business. We do not accept any type of credit or debit card.

Is a deposit required when placing an order?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon placing an order. Your order must be paid in FULL 1 week before your event. There are absolutely no refunds.

Do you deliver or ship cakes? Is there a fee?

We do not ship any of our products. We hand deliver our cakes throughout the tri-state area. There is a delivery fee depending on where your event is. We do not charge a delivery fee within 1 mile of the shop.

Are you a retail location?

We are primarily a custom cake and cupcake shop; however, we do sell cupcakes and specials on a daily basis. Our cupcakes are $2.50 each.

Is an appointment needed to place an order?

If you know the exact cake you would like for your special event, then come in at any time to place an order. For a consultation and complimentary tasting, an appointment is required.

What are your hours?

Our hours vary week to week due to different cake projects. We are typically open from 8:00am-5:00pm Tuesday-Friday and 9:00am-2:00pm on Saturday. We are closed Sunday and Monday. Please feel free to call us at 718-981-2552 prior to coming by the shop.

Do you make cupcakes for events or only cakes?

We do not only make cakes. We also offer many different types of cupcakes. We can create custom cupcake towers, cupcakes individually boxed, or mini cupcakes.

Do you make picture cakes?

No, unfortunately we do not offer these cakes.

Do you offer classes?

We currently do not offer classes but are planning on expanding to a larger location where we will offer a variety of classes and host birthday parties. Check back with us for updates!

How do your cakes taste?

Almost every pastry chef or baker will tell you that their cake is "the best" or "amazing"..... but I wholeheartedly mean it when I say it! All of our products are made from scratch, using the finest ingredients. We do not use any commercial mixes or artificial flavorings. I believe first and foremost that my products should be as pleasing to the palette as they are to the eyes. I am consistently striving to exceed my customers expectations by providing them with scrumptious cakes that are also beautiful works of art!

Do you make dairy or egg-free cakes? Do you make peanut-free cakes?

We do not provide dairy or egg-free cakes. Most of our products do not contain peanuts; however, we are not a peanut-free establishment.

Do you make gluten-free cakes?

We do make gluten-free products. Unfortunately, we do not make gluten-free, fondant-covered cakes. We do have a line of gluten-free products that can be ordered for those who cannot have our regular cakes. Contact us for more details at contact us or 718-981-2552.

We are located at 1098 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, New York, 10309.

Is there a tasting fee?

Yes, there is a $25 non-refundable tasting fee that must be placed 3 days prior to your appointment. If you place an order, we will put the $25 towards your dessert of choice.
